Leh is the capital and largest city in the Union Territory of Ladakh, India. Leh is considered a paradise for bikers. The former residence of the royal family of Ladakh was built in the same style and at the same time as the Potala Palace in Tibet. Leh was an essential barrier connecting Tibet to the east, Kashmir to the west, and India to China. The towns around the city of Leh were founded by Nyama Gone. Magnetic Hill

Magnetic Hill is a popular destination in Ladakh. Magnetic Hill is a cyclops hill. At this point, the vehicles observe the force of gravity and when parked at the marked spot it goes up the hill. The first theory states that this Magnetic hill is an optical illusion caused by the descending and rising terrain. The second theory states that the hill exudes a strong magnetic force that pulls vehicles parked within its range. Magnetic Hill has mysterious magnetic properties that attract tourists from all over the world.

Khardung La Pass

Khardung La is a mountain range in the Ladakh region. It serves as the gateway to the Shyok and Nubra Valley. Khardung La Pass is the best way for adventurous enthusiasts, peace seekers, and mountain bikers. Khardung La was built in 1976. Khardung La was opened to the public in 1988. This route is very important for India as it is used to reach the Siachen Glacier. Due to heavy rains and snowfall, Khardung La Pass is closed from October to May.

Leh Palace

Leh Palace is also known as ‘Lachchan Palghar‘.Leh Palace is built under the leadership of King Seng Namgyal. It is a former 17th-century royal palace. The nine-story dun-colored palace now houses a museum and a prayer room. A significant part of it is now in ruins due to the Kashmiri invasion in the 19th century. The beauty of Leh Palace is still the many ancient Buddhist relics, cutlery used by the royal family, paintings, old utensils, and items adorning the walls.

Shanti Stupa

The Peace Stupa is a magnificent white-domed Buddhist monument in Leh. It is a Buddhist shrine as it contains relics of the Buddha, consecrated by the 14th Dalai Lama. The construction of the Peace Stupa was carried out jointly by Japanese Buddhist monk Guomio Nakamura and Japanese and Ladakhi Buddhists to mark the 2500th anniversary of Buddhism and promote world peace.

Likir Gompa

Liquor Monastery is the oldest monastery in Ladakh in the village of Liquor. There is a huge 75 feet sitting statue of Maitreya Buddha decorated in gold which attracts the tourists coming here. There is a school inside the Liquor Monastery run by the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies.
