Agra is a city located on the banks of the Yamuna river in the Agra district. It is located 206 kilometers south of the national capital of New Delhi. Agra is the fourth and most populous city in Uttar Pradesh and 24th in India. Sikandar Lodi was the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, in 1504  he moves his capital from Delhi to Agra and is therefore regarded as the founder of Agra. 

In 1526, Ibrahim Lodi, the son of Sikandar Lodi’s, was defeated at the Battle of Panipat by Babur, Which marked the beginning of the Mughal Empire. from 1556 to 1648, under the rule of Mughal emperor Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan, The Agra was the capital of the Mughal Empire. However, Shah Jahan later shifted his capital to Delhi.

The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum which is located in the Agra city on the south bank of the river Yamuna. it is the winner of the 7 Wonders of the World. Also, in 1983 It’s listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 for the tomb of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. tomb of Shah Jahan himself is also located there. 

The mausoleum is the centerpiece of a 17-hectare complex, which includes a mosque and guest house, and is built with a three-sided wall in the side gardens. The construction cost of the Taj Mahal was estimated at around Rs 32 million at that time. If we calculate according to 2020, it will be around Rs 70 billion rupees.

Agra Fort is a historical fort and is located in the city of Agra in India. Agra Fort was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site In 1983. The fort can be more perfectly described as a walled city. until 1638, the fort was the native residence of the Mughal dynasty’s emperors, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Before being captured by the British, the last Indian ruler to capture was the Marathas. The fort is traditionally known as Badalgarh.

Sometimes it is called “jewel box“, sometimes it is called “Bachcha Taj“, sometimes it is also known as Darf of the Taj Mahal. the structure includes numerous outbuildings and gardens Along with the main building. Located on the east bank of the river Yamuna, the mausoleum is crossed by watercourses and a walkway in a large cruciform garden.

Akbar’s tomb is the cenotaph of Mughal Emperor Akbar. This tomb is a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. The tomb was built by the Jahangir son of Akbar in 1605–1613. it is located on 119 acres ground in Sikandra, a sub of Agra.
