Tawang Monastery

The monastery is believed to be 400 years old. Tawang Monastery is also known as the Golden Namgyal Lhatse. Built as a large mansion, it is home to more than 300 monks. It is known as the second-largest monastery in the world. Tawang Monastery was founded by Mera Lama Lodre Gyatso at the request of the 5th Dalai Lama, Nagwang Lobsang Gyatso. It is the largest Buddhist monastery in the world outside Tibet.

Sela Pass

Gorichen Peak

Gorichen Peak is the highest peak in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The peak is located between Tawang and West Kameng districts. This peak is also locally known as Sa-anga Fu. The hunt is considered one of the most sacred peaks in the area, according to the local Mompa tribe. Gorichen stays snowbound all year round. This peak is very popular and famous for mountaineers. The locals call it a white elephant because of the huge snow-white carpet here.
