Karjat is a town managed by a municipal council in Raigad district. It is served by the Karjat railway station. Karjat forms part of the Metropolitan Region the Mumbai. Karjat is 70 km away from Mumbai and 100 km from Pune.

The Kondana Caves are located 16 km northwest of Karla Caves and 3 km north of Lonavala in the small village of Kondana. There are 16 Buddhist caves in this cave group. Excavation of caves dating back to the first century BC. To reach the cave, one can go down from Rajmachi village. Although parts of the caves were damaged by the 1900 earthquake, the existing structures are worth seeing. The beauty of these caves is the nearby waterfalls that look beautiful during the monsoon.

Peth Fort is also known as Kothaligad.this fort is situated near Karjat-Murbad Road in the east of Karjat of Maharashtra and this fort is small. it’s small in height and easy to climb that’s why It is a famous trek in the Karjat area.  It’s surrounding to Peth village at its base so it’s known as Peth fort. The cave and carving of the temple are dating back to the 13th century. Aurangzeb sent Abdul Kadir and AliBi radar to capture this fort In 1684. about history, Not much is known until the 18th century

Bhivgad Trek

Bhivgad also is known as Bhimgad is a hill fort located in the state of Maharashtra. The fort offers a nice track in close proximity to the fort of Dhak Bahiri which is located in the district of Raigad. At the top, there are two caves and a few water cisterns. the fort offers a panoramic view of the seasonal falls During the monsoon. near the top, there are still some fortifications left, and remnants of some old constructions.

Palasdari

Palasdari is also known as Padusdhurree. in the Karjat-Khopoli route of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, is a popular tourist place and a railway junction, during the British Raj. in the Marathi language Palas means “tree” and Dari means “Valley”, based on that Palasdari name was derived. Palasdari can be dangerous for reckless travelers cause it has an abundance of thorny plants. however, Palasdari is known for its scenic beauty and rough terrain.
