Secunderabad is the twin city of Hyderabad. Secunderabad was named after the third Nizam of the Asaf Jahi dynasty, Sikandar Jah. which was established in 1806 as a British cantonment. Although Hyderabad and Secunderabad have different histories and cultures, both are known as twin cities. Hyderabad was the capital of the princely state of Hyderabad and until 1948, Secunderabad developed directly under British rule.
Hussain Sagar is also known as Tank Bund. in 1563, it was built by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah, and it’s a heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad. it is fed by the River Musi and is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometers. In the middle of the lake, A huge monolithic statue of Gautam Buddha stands on Gibraltar Rock which was erected in 1992. It separates the center in the city of Hyderabad from its neighbors Secunderabad. The depth of the lake is 32 feet. for sailing, boating, and sightseeing, Hussain Sagar lake is a popular spot.
Snow World is an amusement park located in Hyderabad, covering an area of about 2 acres. on January 28, 2004, the park was inaugurated. It’s located next to Indira Park and next to Hussain Sagar Lake.
Sanjeevaiah Park is a public green space and park in the center of Hyderabad. Built on a 92 acre on the shores of Hussain Sagar Lake, the park is named after former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Damodaram Sanjeevaiah. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has managed the park. The park received the Best Open Landscape Award during the presentation of the 2010 Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage Award.
The park also has the second tallest Indian flag.
Shamirpet Lake is about 24 kilometers north of Secunderabad and is an artificial lake located near Hyderabad. during the Nizam reign, It was built. The lake attracts many birds, making it a good place to watch birds. there is one resort near the lake which is run by the Telangana government. The Outer Ring Road will pass close to the lake. around the lake, many private dhabas and private resorts are there. Aalankrita Resort, Celebrity Club, and Leonia Resorts are not far from the lake. Jawahar Deer Park is also near the lake which contains many deer, peacocks, and different Birds. The park is managed by the Telangana government.
