There are many places in Maharashtra for trekking, each has unique and different characteristics. each has different History and importance with different rulers.

Rajmachi Fort 

Rajmachi fort is one of the many historical forts in the rugged hills of the western ghat. It consists of two twin fortresses namely  Manaranjan Balekilla and Shrivardhan Balekilla. Shrivardhan fort is one of the two hill forts that forms the Rajmachi fort. It is located in Rajmachi village, 8.5 km from Lonavala in the Sahyadris range. it was the taller of the two peaks At 900 m above sea level. it was named after Shrivardhan Ganpatrao Patwardhan.  No construction other than Rampart is visible.

An experienced trekker takes about two hours and a half to ride this route. If a group of trekkers is not familiar with the track route, during the dry season after the rains, they should keep a local route guide. 

Harishchandragad

Harishchandragad is a hill fort located in Ahmednagar district. Its history is connected with Malshej Ghat and Kothale village. It has played a key role in protecting and controlling the surrounding region. Harishchandragad trek is one of the most challenging treks and A popular in the western ghats of Maharashtra with a variety of adventures for all kinds of trekkers.  It is up to 4,670 feet high.
