Budgam district is a district in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. in 1979 It was created with headquartered in Budgam. It is the district where the highest amount of Shias found in the Kashmir valley. 

Doodhpathri

It is a tourist destination and hill station located in Budgam district of Jammu & Kashmir. It is located at an altitude of 2,730 meters above sea level. it is located 42 km away from Srinagar and 35 km from the district headquarter Budgam. The meaning of the “Doodhpathri” name is a valley of milk

It is said that a saint from Kashmir, Sheikh ul Aalam Sheikh Noor din Noorani, while praying here, once pricked into the meadow with his stick in search of water for offering prayers. then milk also came out with the water. He said to milk, milk is only used for drinking only not performing ablution. After that milk converts its form in water and this meadow called Doodhpathri. Dudhpatri has located in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas in a bowl-shaped valley.

Toda Maidan is a grassland located in Khag tehsil of Budgam district. The name also marks the historic Tosa Maidan route from Poonch valley to Kashmir valley. In fact, the original name of Tosa Ground seems to be “Tosa Marg”. Mahmud of Ghazni and Sikh king Ranjit Singh tried to invade the Kashmir valley by this route. in 1964, Tosa Maidan was rent to the Indian Army for 50 years. After the army’s rental agreement expired in April 2014, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir have opened it for the public.

Pehjan

Pehjan is about 25 km away from Khag in the Himalayas, it’s an alpine pasture.  it is called Nueer In their local language. surrounded by lush green forests on four sides, also there are various kinds of asters and several plants of Saussurea lappa.  It is serene, rich in deodars and picturesque

On the way to Pahjan, there is a huge rock with seven pinus trees at the top, known locally as Satte Yar, which is considered as the miracle site of the Sheikh ul Alam Sheikh Noor Din Noorani.

Naranag

Naranag is a stream situated at the Khag bus stand which is also known as Narain Nag. There is a fish farm that has been built by the fishery department of Jammu and Kashmir and this spring is known for its fish.
