Igatpuri is located in the Western Ghats. Igatpuri is surrounded by Sahyadri Ghat. This place is very famous for trekking. Igatpuri is also known for the Vipassana International Academy there, where the ancient technique of meditation is called Vipassana. Most of them are forts built in the Satavahana dynasty. Here Indian movie outdoor scenes special songs are shot in this area. At the world’s largest Vipassana meditation institute, it teaches the strict form of meditation taught by Gautama Buddha in the sixth century BC.

Tringalwadi Fort

The fort is located behind the Ghat Devi temple. Tringalwadi fort is situated at an altitude of 3000 feet. The fort is believed to have been built in the 10th century. The height of the fort offers a scenic view of the Konkan and Nashik route. There is a Hanuman temple at the bottom of the hill next to Tringalwadi lake. The top of the Tringalwadi fort looks like a turban and overlooks the entire mountain range. It is one of the 16 forts which was surrendered to the British in 1818 after the fall of Trymbaka fort.

Bhavali Dam

Bhavali Dam is built on the Bham river. The dam is a popular tourist attraction in the area. The dam has a height of 111.5 feet and a length of 5090 feet. This place is very good for nature lovers. Here is a great view from top to bottom. It takes about 100 steps to reach the top.

The Amruteshwar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was built in the 9th century by the rulers of the Shilahara dynasty. This temple is one of the 12 Shiva temples built by King Zanj.

This temple is believed to be 1200 years old. The temple was built with beautiful stone carvings on the main temple and black and red stones.

Kalsubai Peak

Kalsubai is also famous as the highest peak in Maharashtra. The height of this is 1646 meters. Kalsubai Harishchandrag ad is a mountain located in the Sahyadri range which comes under the Wildlife Sanctuary and offers amazing views. Mount Kalsubai is also known as the Everest of Maharashtra. The trek to this mountain is very difficult and usually experienced trekkers reach the top with little difficulty.

Avandha Fort

The fort of Avandha is located in the Sahyadri mountain range. It consists of rock-cut caves and five reservoirs that can be reached by trekking from Girwadi and Kadwa Colony. From the top of the fort, other forts like Patta Fort, Aad Fort, and Mahosaba Hill can also be seen.
