Hisar is a city located in the state of Haryana. Hisar is known for its steel industry so the city is also known as “The City of Steel”.The city has been identified as a counter-magnet city for the national capital region to develop Delhi as an alternative hub of development.

The city of Hisar has been ruled by a number of powerful people, including the Mauryas in the 3rd century, the Tughlaqs in the 14th century, the Mughals in the 16th century, and the British in the 19th century. Hisar was a city in the state of Punjab before the partition of Punjab and Haryana. But in 1966 Punjab and Haryana were divided and Hisar was called the city of Haryana state.

Agroha Dham

The Agroha temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi. Construction of a temple began in 1976 and was completed in 1984. Agroh Dham is a famous tourist attraction in Agroh, Hisar. The main temple is divided into three wings. The main temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Mahalakshmi, followed by Goddess Saraswati in the west and Maharaja Agrasen in the east.

Lohari Ragho

Excavations in 1980 uncovered three mounds dating to the Sothi-Siswal ceramic period. Lohari Ratho is a village near Hisar. The village has three historic hills, the origins of which can be traced back to the Sothi-Siswal ceramic period. Archaeological remains of the Harappan period have been excavated here. Excavations here have also uncovered fast wheel pottery made from vases, globular jars, basins, bowls, and redware in ceramic inscriptions. Lohari Ragho also has religious monuments and temples, including Dargah, Baba Bakshan Shah, which is located on a lake in the village, Gurudwara Kamboj Sabha, Gurudwara Banda Bahadur and Shiva Temple, Baba Balak Nath Temple, Sanatan Dharam Temple, and some old mosques.

St. Thomas Church

The church is dedicated to St. Thomas, one of the 12 principal disciples of Jesus Christ. It has been declared as a historical monument by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage. The church is founded in the Victorian style.The structure of the church is made of geometric tiles. The cemetery is also located near the entrance to the church.

Firoz Shah Palace

Feroz Shah Palace was built in 1354 by Feroz Shah Tughlaq. There is a mosque named Lat Ki Masjid in this palace complex. The original city of Hisar was a walled settlement within the fort with four gates, Delhi Gate, Mori Gate, Nagauri Gate, and Talaki Gate. The palace complex has a museum named after George Thomas and the Jahaj Kothi Museum.

Barsi Gate

This gate is one of the five main gates to enter the city. The other four gates include Delhi Gate, Hisar Gate, Gosain Gate, and Umra Gate. The imperial gate stands on the outer defense wall of the Hansi Fort in the busy bazaar of the city. This gate was built in 1304-1305.
