Bathinda Municipal Corporation and a city located in the Southwestern part of Punjab. It is the current administrative headquarters of Bathinda District and one of the oldest cities in Punjab. Bathinda is located in the Malwa region in northwestern India, and its 227 km away from the west of the capital Chandigarh. It is the fifth-largest city in Punjab. Bir Talab Zoo
The Bir Talab Zoo is located in Bathinda and it is spread over an area of 161 acres and is contained within a huge boundary wall. In the year 1978, It was established in Bathinda by the Red Cross Society. After that, in 1982, it was taken over by the Forest and Wildlife Protection Department of Punjab. Space has been allotted for keeping different species of deer in front of the bird enclosure. a rare species of deer, blackbuck can also be seen here.
