Kanpur is a metropolis and its historically called Cawnpore. The metropolis is divided into two districts: the rural district of Kanpur Dehat and the urban district of Kanpur Nagar. The leather and its textile industries make the city famous. It is the 11th most populous urban community in India and the 12th most populous city. Until India gained independence in 1947, Kanpur was an important British garrison city. In 2018, Kanpur was rated by the World Health Organization as the city with the worst air pollution in the world. 

Kanpur Zoological Park

Kanpur Zoological Park is also known as Allen Forest Zoo and  Kanpur Zoo. it lies in the 76.56-hectare. It is the largest zoo in North India and the largest open greenery in Kanpur.  A native habitat for wildlife, it is one of the few zoos built in the natural forests of India. Animals living in the zoo park have been kept in an open and moated enclosure. These moated enclosures provide ample space for animal movement and help to express their biological and physical expression.

In 2015, Kanpur Zoological Park added another feather to its top, as it became part of a handful of zoos in the country to obtain ISO certification of 14001: 2004 for the ‘Environmental Management System Standard’.

It is an interesting place in the bustling industrial city of Kanpur, Built during the British Raj, today along with Kamala Retreat and Moti Park. At one time it was known as the “Manchester of the East“.

Nana Rao Park

Nana Rao Park is a public city park in Kanpur which was built after Indian independence in honor of Nana Sahib. Prior to Indian independence, the site was known as the Memorial Well and commemorated the massacre of British women and children during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The park lies in the central area of ​​Kanpur district and is close to Phool Bagh, the LIC building. 

JK Temple

It is a Hindu temple located in the Indian city of Kanpur. it’s considered a unique blend of ancient and modern architecture. The temple pavilion has been constructed with a high roof for adequate ventilation of light and air. Construction of the temple Was carried out by the J.K. trust and the main maintenance cost of the temple also comes from the trust fund. This temple is also famous as the Radhakrishna temple.
