Nabadwip is a town in the Nadia district. This city is the holy place where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was born. The city is located on the west bank of the Hooghly River. The city is believed to have been founded in 1063. The city was formerly known as the old capital of the Sena dynasty. The city is still known for its traditional Sanskrit schools. Nabadwip – Mayapur is a cluster of nine islands on the banks of the Ganges. This village is called the land of God as there are about 200 temples in this small rural area.
