Vijayawada is a city in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Vijayawada is also known as Bejawada. The city is located on the banks of the river Krishna. The city is the second-largest city in Andhra Pradesh. The city is considered to be one of the fastest-growing urban areas in India. It also serves as the ritual of Pushkaram on the river Krishna. The city is known as the ‘commercial, political, and media capital’ of Andhra Pradesh.

Vijayawada was founded by the Parichedi Kings in about 626 A.D. Shows the history of Vijayawada. Vijayawada was ruled by King Madhav Varma. In the early 16th century, diamond mines were discovered near Vijayawada on the banks of the Krishna River during the reign of the Qutb Shahi dynasty.

Undavalli Caves

These caves, made of solid sandstone on a hill, date from the 4th to the 5th century.Is a monotonous example of Indian rock-cut architecture. The cave belonged to the original Jain caves and was later converted into a Hindu temple. The cave is divided into three levels. At the top of the cave is a lush green hill, on the second level is a statue of a god whose identity cannot be traced, and the lower level looks like a Jain abode with many chambers and Tirthankar sculptures. Sculptures of lions and elephants on the walls add to the beauty of the attraction.

Kanaka Durga Temple

Kanaka Durga Temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The temple is built in Dravidian style. The temple is surrounded by the banks of the Krishna River by the Iraqi Ladi hills. Kanaka Durga Temple is one of the many Shakti Peethas in the country. In this temple, the form of Goddess Durga is in Mahishasurmardini.In the third Kalpa, God is described as Swayambhu.

Bhavani Island

Bhavani Island is located at Vijayawada above the river Krishna. Bhavani Island is named after Kanak Durga. Kanaka Durga Temple is located on the Indrakiladri hill near the island. Bhavani Island can be reached by boat from the banks of the river Krishna. It is considered to be the largest river island in India. There are huts on the island that attract tourists. There are activities like water-skiing, kayaking and parasailing for the tourists coming here.

Gandhi Hill

Gandhi Hill is a  ginormous stupa dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. There are six temples dedicated to Gandhiji around this stupa. An amazing light and sound show is organized in the evening to attract the occasional life of this monument Gandhiji. The Gandhi Memorial, built on this hill, is the first in the country to have seven stupas. The stupa 52 ft tall was unveiled by former President of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain on 6 October 1968.

Moghalrajpuram caves

Moghalrajpuram cave is the 5th century. The idols of Lord Nataraja, the idols of Ganesha in a cave are still in good condition in the images worn by the gods and goddesses. It is considered one of the centrally protected monuments of national importance. It has five rock-cut sanctuaries. The cave shows a cornice filled with 2 artificial windows.
