Ranchi is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand and the fourth largest city in the region. Ranchi was the center of the Jharkhand movement, which sought to create a separate state for the tribal areas of South Bihar, North Orissa, West Bengal, and the eastern part of the present-day Chhattisgarh. on 15 November 2000, by forming the Bihar division of Chotanagpur and Santhal Parganas, The state of Jharkhand was formed. Ranchi has been selected as one of the 100 Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship Smart Cities Mission.

Tagore Hill

Tagore Hill, also known as Morabadi Hill is located in Morabadi, Ranchi. It is  4 KM from Albert Ekka Chowk and is around 300 feet high. The mountain has a long association with the revered poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.  in 1912, Rabindranath Tagore’s elder brother Jyotirindranath Tagore settled here, after the death of his wife Kadambari Devi. he built a monument named Brahma Sthal and a house named Shanti Dham. and later he died in 1925. The center of Divyayan and Agrarian Vocational Institute is also located on the premises of this hill along with Ramakrishna Mission Ashram. due to its association with the elder brother of the great poet Rabindranath Tagore, It is a tourist attraction in Jharkhand. 

Pahari Mandir

Pahari Mandir is a temple located on a hilltop in Ranchi city.  This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located 350 feet above the ground and 2140 feet above sea level. You have to climb 468 steps to reach the temple. from the temple, the entire Ranchi city can be seen. In the hill temple, Lord Shiva is worshiped in the form of linga. A large crowd of Shiva devotees stays here during Shivaratri and Savan months. This is the first temple in the country where tricolors are flown. 

Nakshatra Van

Nakshatra Van is a park in front of the residence of the Governor of Jharkhand in Ranchi, which is built by the Jharkhand Forest Department. Used in Hindu astronomy and Hindu astrology, the moon is a constellation or moon mansion in 27 or 28 divisions of the sky that passes during its menstrual cycle. Each constellation is identified by its famous star and is associated with a zodiac sign. each constellation of the zodiac is associated with a tree, Hindu astrologers believe. Those trees are of medicinal, social, aesthetic, or economic value. 

Jagannath Temple

Jagannath Temple of Ranchi was built in 1691, by the kings of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo. Completed on December 25, 1691, and it is located about 10 km from the main city.  The temple is on top of a small hill. Like the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, this temple, though small, but is built in the same architectural style. During the month of Aashaadha, the temple hosts an annual fair-cum-rath yatra, which attracts thousands of tribal and non-tribal devotees, not only from Ranchi, but also from nearby villages and towns, and is thus celebrated with much fanfare and enthusiasm.  similar to the Rath Yatra in Puri.
