Haridwar, also called Hardwar, is located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. it is the largest in the district and the second-largest city in the state. The city is located at the foot of the Shivalik mountain on the right bank of the holy river Ganga. 

Kumbh Mela In Hardiwar

Haridwar is considered a divine place for Hindus. It serving as the gateway to some of the leading worship services and also Hosting important religious events.  Haridwar hosts Kumbh Mela every 12 years, which is one of the most important events for Hindus. To attain Moksha and to take a religious bath on the banks of the river Ganga, Millions of pilgrims, devotees, and tourists flock to Haridwar.

Haridwar, Ujjain, Nashik, and Prayagraj are the four places where drops of Amrit were accidentally spilled during “Samudra Manthan” from a pitcher while it being carried by a bird Garuda. This place is located today as the Brahma Kund on the most sacred ghat “Har Ki Pauri” of Haridwar.

According to a hundred-year-old tradition, Every evening at sunset the priests perform Ganga Aarti. To pray, many people have gathered in-crowd on both banks of the holy river Ganga. The priest has a large fire bowl in his hand for Aarti. And in the temple around the ghat, instruments like bells and drums are played, Which gives a different kind of joy to people.

Rishikesh is Also called Hrishikesh. Rishikesh is located in the foothills of the Himalayas. it is also known as the “Yoga Capital of the World” and “Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas

It is considered as a holy pilgrimage place by Hindus. to meditate in search of higher knowledge, the sages and saints of Hindus have visited Rishikesh since ancient times. 

Lakshman Jhula

It is a suspension bridge, which built over the river Ganga. The bridge connects 2 villages on the west and east banks of the river. one is Tapovan which is located in Tehri Garhwal district and another is Jonk which is located in Pauri Garhwal district. it is a pedestrian bridge which was also used by motorcycles

It is a landmark of Rishikesh, Although this bridge is located on the border of the city. Ram Jhula is a large bridge 2 km downstream from Laxman Jhula.
