Aligarh is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Aligarh was formerly known as Kol. Aligarh is known as a university town. The city is known as the seat of the Aligarh Muslim University. The city has developed into a popular educational and business center. It is believed that the city was founded by the Dor Rajputs in 372 AD. The Maulana Azad Library, one of the largest libraries in India, is also located in Aligarh. A grand show is organized in this city. Which is known as Numaish. The land of the exhibition ground was donated by Nawab Rehmat Ullah Khan Sherwani.

Aligarh Fort 

Aligarh Fort is located in Aligarh village. The fort was built by Muhammad, the son of Umar, the governor of Kol, during the time of Ibrahim Lodi. This fort is also known as the strongest fort in India. The fort is also known as “Bonay Chor Ka Qila“.The design of the fort represents historic Islamic influences with exquisite architecture and intricate symbolic carvings.

 

Jama Masjid

The Jama Masjid is the oldest monument. The in-built capacity of the mosque is 5000 people. The masjid was commemorated in January 1915. The Jama Masjid has been described as the largest gold mosque in Asia. This mosque is the first mosque in India which is the residential tombs of the martyrs, also known as Ganj-e-Shahidan.

Sir Syed House Museum 

The Sir Syed House Museum is located at Aligarh Muslim University. The museum was formerly the home of Sir Syed, the founder of Mohammadan’s Anglo-Oriental College. The museum is mainly divided into three parts. The first part depicts the life of Sir Syed and his associates, the second part details the developmental stages of Alig Muslim University and the third part contains pictures of AMU’s campus in the gallery, and he is the Chancellor. There is an art gallery here which attracts the tourists who come there.

Khereshwar Temple

The Khireshwar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is very famous for the Shivling located there. The size of the Shivling in this temple is so small that it is famous as the invisible Shiva linga. This temple is believed to be thousands of years old. The Khereshwar temple bears witness to many years old legends and myths about the Dwopara era.

Naqvi Park 

Naqvi Udyan is also known as Rajkeey Udyan Jawahar Park. Naqvi Park is well known for its lush greenery and fountains. The park is a major attraction for the locals there. People in the park are there for walking in the morning.
