Chennai is formerly known as Madras and is the capital of Tamilnadu. It’s located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal and is one of the largest cultural, educational centers, and economies in South India. it is the sixth most populous city in India and the fourth most populous urban community, According to the 2011 Indian Census. Together with the surrounding regions, the city has the Chennai metropolitan area, which is the 36th largest urban area in the world by population. Chennai is the traditional and de facto gateway of South India,  one of the most visited Indian cities by foreign tourists. For 2015, it was the 43rd most visited city in the world.

Marina Beach is a natural urban beach located in Chennai, along the Bay of Bengal.  at a distance of 6.0 kilometers, the beach stretches from near Fort St. George in the north to the Foreshore Estate in the south, which making it the longest natural urban beach in the country.  unlike the short, rocky formations of the Juhu Beach in Mumbai, The Marina is primarily sandy. due to the hazards,  Bathing and swimming on Marina Beach are legally prohibited as the underlying current is very turbulent. It’s Attracts about 30,000 visitors a day on weekdays and 50,000 visitors a day on weekends and holidays, which make it the most crowded beaches in the country. 

Fort St. George

Fort St George founded in 1639 and is the first English fortress in India. is located in the coastal city of Madras, the modern city of Chennai. The construction of the fort gave impetus to more settlements and trade, originally desolate land. Thus, it is possible to say that the city has developed around the fortress. It currently houses the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and other official buildings.

Government Museum

The Government Museum or Madras Museum is located in the Government Museum Complex near Egmore in Chennai and it is a museum of human history and culture.  after the Indian Museum in Kolkata, it is the second oldest museum in India, which was started in 1851. It is the tenth oldest Museum in the World.  in archaeological and numismatic collections it is particularly rich. It has the largest collection of Roman antiquity outside of Europe. Of these, the Huge Museum Theater is the most impressive. In the museum premises, there is the national art gallery is also present. Built-in Indo-Saracenic style, including King Ravi Varma, it features rare European and Asian paintings by famous artists. With 0.6 million visitors in 2018, It is the third-largest museum in the world. It has the richest collection of bronze statues, 500 of which are 1000 BC in Asia.
